Esa Posio

Mr Esa Posio has over 35 years of experience leading international R&D programs and projects, including 23 years in management positions at Nokia Corporation. Mr Posio has led numerous product and R&D programs in industry and academia with solid expertise in mobile communications, Smart City, IoT, Industry 4.0, AR/VR, and eHealth. In addition, he has co-founded and kicked off ICT start-ups for IoT and AR industry solutions. Furthermore, the chairman of the board of directors and several chairman positions in steering groups of national and international R&D projects shows his strong business and program management profession.

Since the fall of 2018, in his current role, as a Program Manager of 6G Flagship – the world’s first 6G research program – Mr Posio has been promoting digitalization and 5G deployment across verticals while also boosting beyond 5G and 6G technology development towards the 2030 wireless era. His previous academic position included CTO of Internet Experimentation at the Center of Internet Excellence.
