Launched in 2018 as part of the Research Council of Finland’s flagship initiative, the University of Oulu’s 6G Flagship is the world’s first large-scale research programme dedicated to 6G. The programme has produced over 3,500 peer-reviewed publications. Its white papers outlining the 6G vision, key research questions, and challenges have been downloaded over 1 million times. 6G Flagship’s research is organised into four strategic areas: wireless connectivity, devices and circuit technology, distributed intelligence, and human-centric wireless services—each addressing societal needs for the 2030s.
