6G Flagship at the University of Oulu welcomed a Thai delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Prasert and accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE Ministry) and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (Depa). The visit focused on exchanging insights about 6G technology and its potential to advance Thailand’s digital infrastructure and economy.

The delegation explored Finland’s approach to leveraging 6G for industrial innovation and societal benefit, with discussions highlighting sustainable digital solutions, smart cities, and human-centric technologies. Opportunities for international collaboration were also discussed, particularly in 6G applications for healthcare, education, and manufacturing. The 6G Flagship shared its role in driving 6G research and development in collaboration with industry partners.

The visit discovered a shared interest in educational collaborations, including possible student exchange programmes between Thailand and the University of Oulu. Such initiatives could offer Thai students valuable practical experience in advanced tech environments while fostering international collaboration and bringing fresh perspectives to 6G research efforts.
